She might be pregnant. Now what?

We get it. You weren’t expecting this. It’s ok to feel overwhelmed, confused, or maybe a bit scared. You want to support her, but you may not know what that looks like. We understand what you’re facing, and we’re here to support you, even if you just need someone to talk to.

“I just needed to know that my partner supported me. Then I knew we were making the right decision.”

It’s important to try to understand what she is feeling, what the options are for this pregnancy, and how to make an informed decision on the next steps.

Remember, too, that you can speak up and share your thoughts on any decisions being made about this pregnancy. Contact us to talk with someone who can provide factual, helpful information.

Our services are 100% free and completely confidential.

What you can do right now to help yourself and your partner:

Have honest conversations with her about how you are both feeling. Simply start by saying, “Let’s figure this out together.”

You and your partner are a team in this.  Use phrases like “We’ll get through this,” rather than “I’ll support you in whatever you decide.”  By saying “we,” “us,” and “our,” it will make your partner feel less isolated and alone, and show her that you are fully invested in the situation.

Look for trusted resources to learn about pregnancy and all of your options. The more you know, the better prepared you will be to discuss options, concerns, and what to expect each step of the way.

She is probably feeling alone and scared, not knowing what the future holds. Show her that you are committed by clearly laying out ways you will support her and be there for her and the baby.
